HAND WEAVING


The technique of weaving by hand is as old as the weaving loom to, characteristic of the pre-Columbian cultures of the Andes, dating back over 2500 years old in our history. Weavers and weavers cultivate this technique with the characteristics of an ancient handicraft. The raw material is mainly fiber from 100% alpaca. The technique includes the selection of fiber quality, fine hand-spinning or spinning craft with equipment, with options for different yarn fineness, design, sizes, finishes. Today the art of fabric hand has managed to merge the old handicraft with the demands of domestic and international market in terms of specific weight of the product through rigorous combinations of fine fibers and cotton, precision carving, various designs, finishes specific and have included all control processes to ensure product quality. Artisans hand-woven Puno now have reached the required standards in the international arena and have been inserted as suppliers to the demanding markets of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, France, USA and Japan.
